The purpose of the Three Year Planning (3YP) process is to encourage departments to develop a strategic plan over the next three years as part of determining the short- and long-term direction of the unit. The process is meant to foster substantial consultation and conversation within units and with college offices to encourage innovation and experimentation as departments align themselves with the priorities of the CLA Roadmap and the larger mission of the university. Through these efforts, we also seek to develop a transparent and reliable set of budgetary and non-budgetary commitments to and from units in a spirit of partnership and collaboration.
